Position Information:

The Payroll Lead Clerk position supports the payroll department to ensure administration of payroll, compensation, benefits & new hire processes.

  • Full-time - 40 hours/week;
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00pm;
  • Starting Pay rate: $23 - $26 Depending on experience;
  • Benefits: Company paid medical, dental & vision coverage, life insurance, short-term disability, sick and vacation. The medical only has a $500 deductible. Per payroll your cost is only $20-$50 depending on how many family members you are covering for all of those benefits. Our 401k also has a match/profit share.
  • There are also voluntary benefits for long-term disability and extended life insurance and AFLAC products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists with compensation administration: pay structure, timekeeping system assessment & processing pay changes.
  • Processing new hires, rehires and terminations, including data entry and benefits reporting.
  • Performs benefits administration to include: employee enrollment/changes, short/long term disability claims, FMLA review, monitoring invoices and maintaining spreadsheets for benefit administration.
  • Review for accuracy and pay monthly benefits billings for union and non-union employees..
  • Runs and reviews reporting for pension, health and welfare, 401k and benefits reporting.
  • Calculate quarterly accruals for assigned stores and gives to the Controller for posting.
  • Compliance reporting, Quarterly tax reporting.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience preferred in a Payroll job specifically focused on employee compensation and benefits.
  • Requires advanced computer proficiency including Microsoft office, (word, excel, general ledger system, outlook), and a working knowledge of timekeeping software, internet, and web-based applications.
  • Requires ability to operate a range of office equipment including: phone, copier, fax, 10-key, and scanner.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be well- organized, professional, and reliable.
  • Strong attention to detail.
